I have been tutoring on and off for over twenty years whilst pursuing my career. I have a First Class Honours Degree in English and have worked as a Commissioning Editor and a Television Producer. Most recently I have run my own company offering a detailed critique service to aspiring and published authors. However, as the mother of four children I now wish to return to the more flexible hours of private tutoring. I am passionate about English - literature and language - and truly believe that I am able to deepen a student's level of understanding - whilst improving their critical analysis, articulation of ideas, essay writing techniques and grammatical and syntactical presentation.
I challenge you not to love English after we have worked together! Even students who come to me thinking English is 'boring' or 'impossible' go away loving the subject and with grades to be proud of.
I will happily tutor students at 11 Plus, Common Entrance, GCSE, A Level and Graduate level. I have also enjoyed work in the past with students from non academic pathways looking to improve their English skills and with clients from the business sector looking to improve written and presentation skills.

I have run my own company tutoring professional writers and have run workshops on all aspects of written skills. Have also run workshops and individual advice sessions on presentation, interview techniques and public speaking skills.
