My name is Ellie, and I am a friendly and reliable teacher and Educational Psychologist, offering private tuition for all ages. I currently have many clients who ask me to help their young children with extra Maths and English lessons outside of school time. I have found this to be extremely beneficial as my lessons can help with the child`s self confidence. Additionally, many of my students are studying at private schools, where the teaching pace is much faster. I have weekly lessons with these children to help them keep up and fully understand each topic that has been covered.

The problem with schools, both private and state, is that these days not many teachers ensure that every pupil has grasped a topic or method before they move on, so this can leave a child really struggling to keep up and the parents feeling totally helpless. I can go through anything they have not understood at a slower pace and as my lessons are one-to-one, they can address each child`s individual needs.

I use a wide range of fun learning techniques, which ensure that my pupils find the subject enjoyable. I believe this is something which is hugely important in helping them achieve better results at school. Additionally, I tailor each session round my students to not only help them improve academically, but also with their organisation skills, which I have found to be equally fundamental in the learning process. Finally, exam technique is incorporated into many of my lessons, especially with those preparing for SATS or GCSE examinations, as this is very important in securing success. I also offer home schooling on mornings and afternoons for those who are not attending school. I have successfully supported numerous young people this way, ensuring to cover all the necessary syllabus, and prepare them for exams if required. Availability: I am able to do the lessons in your house, which I find always helps as my students are in the comfort of their own home. I am happy to travel a reasonable distance for lessons (up to 10 miles).

I teach all levels up to and including GCSE level and work between the hours of 9:00am and 8:30pm every day excluding Sundays.

My rates are: £40 per hour and this includes all assessment and learning materials, plus a personal tailored weekly lesson plan to meet each child`s individual needs.

Please note that any cancellations must be made with at least 24 hours notice, otherwise they may incur a charge. Especially during busy exam times, I like to fit in as many students as possible to help them, so whilst I completely understand that occasionally something unexpected may come up forcing you to cancel, please make sure you let me know straight away so I can offer your lesson slot to someone else.
