Spanish (primary, ks3, gcse, degree, adult-learner, a-level)
I am Spanish and a Spanish native speaker. I was born in the area of Alicante, Spain. When I was very young, I developed an interest in English so at the age of 6, I began to attend an after-school languages club. This interest led to a passion, and this is the reason why I moved to England about 3 years ago. I decided to come to live, study and work in the UK. I am very committed and dedicated- most people would describe me as a friendly and easy-going person.
Availability: All day, every day, please contact me to check availability.
I can also teach English, French and Catalan.
I teach at home. However, I can travel to the student's home instead if required but this might incur a flat extra charge which shall be added to the total cost of the lesson- depending on area.
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: I taught English and Spanish for about 2 years at the school of languages where I used to learn English. My ex-teacher was so amazed at my English (native-speaker level at the moment) that she asked me to work for her in the evenings, after school- even though I was only 14 years old at the time. I feel I have gained so much experience from this, as I had such a great range of students, all from different backgrounds. I learnt how to tailor lessons successfully, in order to deal with individual needs and tackle my students' weaknesses directly. Unfortunately, I had to resign when I moved to England. Over here, I have been conducting some research in my free time, which has increased my knowledge and experience in teaching. I have also been working on a 3-hour/week basis (evenings) for Brockworth Enterprise School as a Spanish teacher for about 2 years, which has again provided me with further experience. In addition to this, I helped the Modern Languages Department at The Crypt Grammar School, in Gloucester (where I did my A-levels) with Spanish lunch-time classes and other educational events. I am currently studying an English Language degree at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham.
Thanks to all my experience, dedication and knowledge (being a native-speaker) , I believe the quality of my tutoring is extremely high, being therefore value for your money, but also for your time. I try to make a good and friendly atmosphere in all my lessons so that my students don't feel pressured, but relaxed and free to make mistakes and errors- at the end of the day, mistakes are what we learn from! I also try to make my lessons as fun as possible, to enhance learning. I do this by using music and videos, for instance, as learning resources.
Qualifications: A-level in Spanish, English Language and French. I am currently studying a degree in English Language.
