Information about Colin
I am a twenty-five year old law graduate of King`s College London and have completed the Bar course (BPTC) to be called as a barrister. Over the past three years, I have been employed in a variety of roles by Thames Valley Police, at the Local Government Ombudsman and worked as a researcher to a Law Professor. I currently work for the Law Commission, King`s College London (where I teach contract law) and for a Court of Appeal judge.
In addition to this, I have written a number of articles published in mainstream legal journals and acted as an adviser to a number of senior figures within the UK on the proposed Common European Sales Law. Furthermore, acting as a McKenzie friend with rights of audience, I represented the father in Re W before the Court of Appeal ([2013] EWCA Civ 315 and 662) and the Oxford County Court.
Further details available upon request.
I believe in bespoke and one-to-one needs based tuition. I possess an incisive and practical approach to problem solving and endeavour to tailor my tuition to my tutee`s personal needs.
Availability: Lunchtimes, evenings and weekends. Please note that I do not teach EU, property, equity or trusts. For these or if I do not have capacity, I can recommend Craig whose profile is to the right.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have tutored a large number of students in topics including constitutional law, criminal law, contract law, tax law and the English legal system.
I also offer tuition in advocacy and other BPTC subjects, I have practical experience in the application of many of these through my role in the case of Re W (above) and am also familiar with the Hampel method and have attended numerous advocacy training sessions run by Lincoln`s Inn.
I am currently a visiting tutor in contract law at King`s College London where I have 52 students and have also lectured on the Common European Sales Law at the University of Leicester.
