The parents of my students affectionately refer to me as `the whole package`! This is because I support my students throughout the whole of their learning, from Primary School age right through to adulthood.

Apart from being an English specialist, I am also a Chartered Psychologist, and so I use my specialist skills to design programmes according to my students` individual needs. Some students require regular tuition, while others require more intensive workshops for a particular purpose e.g. an intensive Easter, Christmas, or summer boost to raise grades in English or Psychology.

My students vary widely in terms of their ages - currently from 5 years of age, through to middle adulthood, and have varying requirements. Some students lack confidence at school and so would benefit from Small Group work, while other adult students (who might be located abroad) wish to study English and pass a Proficiency exam to help them in their work. (I currently have adult students studying for IELTS and CAE and exams. )

I have nineteen years`experience as an English and Psychology teacher and eighteen years as a private tutor. Previous to that, I taught Dance, Drama, and Music in my own performing arts school, as well as at Camberwell Choir School, a Saturday project for local children. I have been working creatively with children and young people from diverse backgrounds throughout the whole of my working life. It is this creativity, as well as a sharp eye for detail that allows me to create fun, interactive lessons that make learning an enjoyable and extremely rewarding process. My passion lies in supporting students of any age or background to achieve their goals, whatever these may be. My specialist skills and experience allow me to support students in overcoming particular challenges to learning, whether they be physical, linguistic, psychological, emotional, or social. This means that any student of mine who wishes to do well, no matter what their circumstances, will be fully supported in doing so. HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS

Apart from regular tuition, I also provide Holiday Workshops that take place each school holiday, and are focused on particular topics and are at various levels. These effective and popular Workshops are an excellent way for students to benefit from my successful techniques and see the results immediately. Places are limited and reservations are now being made for the Christmas Workshops, so book fast!

`MOVING ON UP`: For students entering Year 6 in September

`BLOOMING MARVELLOUS`: A stretch and challenge workshop to gain confidence, and other personal and technical skills. Students undertake a project and learn valuable research, reporting and presentation skills.

The above three workshops are all for children wishing to improve their all-round English skills, or those preparing for entrance exams.


For those on my waiting list, or who are not looking for regular tuition but would still like to benefit from my techniques, I have created Skills Packs in English and Psychology, which are available for purchase. These packs include online support from me, so you still benefit from a personal service.

I am also a specialist in university applications, including Medicine, Veterinary, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Psychology degrees, and Teacher Training, plus I coach for personal statements and interview technique. All classes and workshops take place at my home in Kenley, Croydon, which is conveniently situated on the A22, 1 mile from Purley. There is parking space available at my home, plus various public transport links.

A range of classes are available from regular tuition (weekly or fortnightly) to ad hoc classes for support with particular assignments - especially useful for university students. Classes can be face-to-face or online.
