Annabel

My name is Annabel and I am a qualified primary school teacher and I have taught in schools for 8 years. Within schools I have worked as Head of Specialist Educational Needs, supporting those children who need extra help to reach their full potential. I am also an experienced tutor and use a range of different approaches to help children consolidate what they have learnt at school and to further their understanding and interests. I am enthusiastic and passionate about teaching children and believe that I can make a huge difference to a child`s understanding of subjects. I believe that my role as a tutor is to help students to learn for themselves rather than merely transferring knowledge. Children are in my experience keen to learn, and with the right guidance are able to seek out and discover knowledge on their own. Therefore my role as a tutor is to inspire students in their learning, while recognising that individual situations and motivations vary. As a classroom teacher I have taught children from the ages three to eleven and have taught all subjects to these age groups. I have good organisation skills and a confident and sociable manner.

Availability: I am available to tutor both weeknights and school holidays.

Experience: I am a qualified Primary School Teacher and Specialist Educational Needs Co-ordinator. I am currently working in a Preparatory School in Surrey, which has recently been graded as Excellent. I have extensive experience of home tutoring children of primary and secondary school age in Maths, English, Science and preparing for entrance exams.
