Information about Alison

My speciality is helping people develop their computer software skills in their own time.
I am very patient. I understand when people return to `learning` - it`s all a bit daunting and potentially stressful. I am relaxed and friendly and enjoy my subject immensley and hope to pass on my enthusiasm for what a computer can do by increasing your confidence to use a computer for your personal or professional life.
I took a degree in computer science modules in my mid forties so remember clearly how daunting some challenges are. I would like to think of myself as a friendly, empathic person with a genuine interest in the educational well being of my clients and students.

Availability: I`ve been `off line` for a little while because I was working a lot with a College, however, now I have reduced the hours working at the College, therefore! I am mostly available! - any day by negotiation.
Weekends are not out of the question either!

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have taught Computer skills for many years - I started with Norton Radstock College and currently I am an `Adult Community` tutor at Bath College and I teach adults in groups or individually who wish to return to work, or need a refresher of particular Microsoft Office Software programs .

I also teach the staff at the College - filling gaps in their knowledge of MS Office programs. Additionally, I teach groups from outside organisations. Before a session, I discuss with the client what is wanted in the session/s and tailor each session to the needs of each group - for example this could be to overcome a particular difficulty or a short series to upgrade general computer skills.

For many years I have helped private clients - always using the client`s own computer, either in their own home or sometimes in a local library or other public meeting place.
