Information about Alex
I am a qualified and experience secondary school Mathematics teacher who has taught for several years in top schools in Oxford and Central London. I have acted as Head of Department where I redesigned the curriculum taking the best mathematics teaching concepts from around the world(Singapore, The Netherlands, etc). From this research I understood that it is one mindset knowing Mathematics, it is another mindset to be able to explain mathematical concepts in an understandable way to gain better progression in the subject.
I am available to give one to one Mathematics and Physics tutorials to those wishing to expand their skills and their understanding in these subjects. These tutorials can include all levels: KS3, GCSE, AS and A levels. My tutorials can be in person or delivered through Skype. I’m happy to take any student from to those struggling to pick up the basic concepts to those high flying through the course and wish to take their mathematics a stage further.
Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends
Willing to travel: 1 miles
Experience: I am teaching Mathematics at a specialist secondary school for those with special educational needs, most common of which being dyslexia.
In my last set of tutees, the majority of my students obtained two grades higher than they performed six months previously – taking one person doing Physics from a D at AS level to a B.
