Information about Emily
I am trained and experienced in science communication, that means I can make difficult science concepts easy to understand.
I have a BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Science Communication. I have worked with students from a range of backgrounds and confidence levels. I strive to help students enjoy science and take the stress away from learning.
As part of my background in Science Communication I have carried out research on science learning and know how to fully evaluate to make sure students are getting the most out of sessions.
My sole focus is on tutoring, therefore I can provide personalised learning materials for each student and can really understand and solve any issues they may face.

Experience: I have worked with pupils in informal learning settings, developing and delivering workshops helping students to learn the curriculum through fun activities.
I have also mentored students in science competitions, teaching them how to best explain science to the public. In addition, I have completed a research project at Imperial College and demonstrated this research at the Big Bang Science Fair to celebrate STEM for 7 – 19 year olds.

Emily has been tutoring my daughter across the Sciences for the past couple of months and already the improvement in my daughters confidence, attitude and more noticeably grades have improved considerably. The lessons are fun and engaging. Emily is super reliable and very knowledgeable and my daughter very much looks forward to her x2weekly sessions. Emily was incredibly understanding when there was a admin issue our end and even though we were late to begin the lesson, Emily ran over time to give my daughter the whole hour. So pleased we found Emily.

Our situation change where we didn’t need to the use of a tutor so we didn’t have a good opportunity to get to know Emily, but on the lesson we booked and used her for, she came well prepared with material sorted to tutor our son, and her communication through the tutorhunt site was very good.
