Information about Beverley
I have been tutoring now since 2003, and it is an absolute joy for me to help pupils realize just how much they can achieve, pass their exams and to pursue their chosen careers. All my pupils mean a lot to me, and I feel a real responsibility to help them as much as I possibly can.
One of the most rewarding experiences for me is when a pupil suddenly realizes that something they struggled so much with at school can be so easy and is in no way beyond their capabilities. I have spent a lot of time formulating ways to help pupils with the more difficult concepts/skills to make them as easy as possible to achieve. I break down tasks into smaller, more manageable sections and encourage pupils to practice skills separately. Once pupils have got to grips with this, I then begin to bring everything together to enable them to finish the tasks effectively.
During exam time, I still have dreams that I am taking my exams again, and I really feel for my pupils at that anxious time. However, I know that all the extra hard work will pay off, and through regular practice of exam papers with me, pupils become extremely familiar with the types of questions, and hence, the exams are a lot less daunting for them. Several times my pupils have said how they wished they could take me into the exam in their pencil case, however, I tell them that I would be there with them anyway, as they know what I would say: read the question carefully, focus on one task as a time and most of all, dont panic, have confidence.
I have tutored many children for years, and often their siblings too, supporting them from learning to read and count right the way to helping them with university applications. I am always sad when my pupils finish tuition with me and move on, however, I am also so happy to know that I have helped them on their journeys. I sincerely hope that through tuition with me, my pupils learn to gain the confidence to know that they can achieve whatever they put their minds to, and to have faith in themselves, in the same way that I have faith in them.

Beverly is very friendly and hardworking. My daughter is really enjoying her lessons, and has had lots of support from Beverly when she is struck on something. She has also been flexible when lessons need rearranging.

Beverley has supported my daughter really well in her science GCSE studies. As a dyslexic, my daughter has struggled with the technical details of the sciences, but Beverley has found ways to explain the subject in a simple and personable way.

Beverley is very patient with my son and explains things in detail to him. Beverley also makes sure he completely understands something first, before they move onto something new. Overall I`m very happy.
