I graduated in 2001 with a BSc Psychology (2.1) degree. Since graduating I have become a qualified teacher and gained a substantial amount of experience as a Psychology teacher. I have taught IB and A-level Psychology (AQA/Edexcel).

I believe that every session is unique and adapt my teaching style to the individual. I try to make sure we are utalising lesson time effectively. Therefore, I normally set homework so we can analyse the answers in lessons, developing areas that need more focus and expanding on examination techniques.

I provide support for students that are finding concepts more challenging, this may take place through scaffolding answers to support students or working through past papers until they have built the skills needed. I am patient and if a technique is not working, I have the ability to use a different method to get to the end goal. I have a solid understanding of the specifications and requirements of the course. This enables me to get the best results for students. I am confident with the course content, and fluent with the skills needed to attain the upper band of marks.

Research Methods can be a tricking topic in Psychology but an integral part of the course, my aim is to develop students confidence with this aspect of the course and to embed these skills into their examination technique.

Availability: Weekdays (evenings)
Monday - Thursday, slots available 16.00 - 17.00 or 17.30- 18.30

Experience: I have 13 years experience teaching at KS5 I have taught IB Psychology and A-level (AQA/Edexcel). The majority of my experience has been gained in a top private school.
My degree is in Psychology, with a specific focus on statistics.
I am also an EPQ coordinator and moderator for AQA.
