Information about Karen

I have been lecturing in law for over seventeen` years. A significant part of this experience has been lecturing at A-level. I have been an AQA A-level Law examiner for seven years, so can give an insight into structuring answers from an examiners` perspective.

In the last two years, I have been lecturing at HE level. I`m currently lecturing for `Open University` and lecture on the LLB programme, specialising in contract and tort law. Part of teaching at the `Open University` involves a mixture of on-line lectures and face to face. Therefore, I can provide tuition to anyone, regardless of where they live, either by telephone or Skype.

My research interests are in intellectual property and cyberlaw, both topics that feature as part of my PhD thesis that commences in Sept 2018.

Availability: Evenings and weekends. I may also be available during the day (depending on work commitments). We can meet in a coffee shop or the library in `Birmingham City Centre`.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have seventeen years’ experience lecturing in Law leading to subject expertise in the English Legal System, contract, criminal, criminal litigation and tort. I have taught on the following programmes: A-level, Access to HE Diploma in Law, HND and Degree level. I have worked for a major exam board (AQA) assessing student performance externally at A-Level. I have also been a senior examiner for AQA, which involved training, monitoring and assessing examiners` marking.

Moreover, I have a masters in Law at distinction level. My masters specialised in intellectual property, international human rights, cyberlaw and transnational crime, therefore I can offer my services across these subjects.
