Information about Georgina

I recently received a first in my BA in Physics & Philosophy from Oxford. I`ve loved physics since the start and was fascinated by how it enables us to understand the intricacies of the universe that other people can take for granted. With philosophy, I became interested quite late in my school career. I decided to apply for the course a few months before the UCAS deadline, and I had to rush to quickly learn everything I could. Doing so opened my eyes to the breadth of the subject and how applicable it can be to so many parts of our lives. Having applied to both the American and UK system, I understand the differences between the two and the difficulty with moving from one to the other, especially educationally. I achieved top marks in my SAT and SAT II tests (Math II, Physics and Chemistry) and have helped people write personal essays for both application platforms.

I achieved 11 A*s at IGCSE level and an A in my Additional Maths FMSQ. During my A Levels, I tutored at Physics Help, a school-run club where older students tutor younger students on the physics course, usually with a focus towards exam material and technique with GCSEs and A Levels. I really enjoyed creating effective study timetables for myself and other students by working with them on their desires and habits to focus on maximising learning whilst minimising stress.

Experience: I am an experienced tutor with nearly five years of experience.

I like to start tutoring sessions by going through a quick list of what you would like to get out of the session, usually focusing on what specific topics you`re struggling with. We`ll then work through that list, going over whatever questions you may have, any example questions from textbooks you`d like to work through together.

My tutoring style varies depending on the individual student, their learning style and their needs and wants, so the lessons will become more tailored and personalised over the course of our time together.

At the end of each session, I do a quick run-through of the topics we`ve covered and I check if there are any more questions before the session ends.
