Information about Alison
I am an experienced primary teacher and a registered counsellor. I enjoy the challenge of unpacking barriers to learning, enabling pupils to set and achieve their own goals and overcome challenges in learning. My tutoring is based around activities suited to the pupil`s learning style. I am able to refer pupils to different agencies where necessary to further their learning potential.
By using a colour based approach to spelling patterns, I can help pupils identify their own areas of learning, enabling them to grow in confidence, and achieve a greater potential in their general learning.
I have worked as a specialist tutor with Kip McGrath tutoring centres for three years and developed methods of teaching by following the pupils style of learning
At the moment I am also tutoring in Higher English, helping older pupils with reading skills and textual analysis
I also tutor in French for children and adults in small groups using interactive methods. These lessons are recommended by current pupils as full of fun whilst advancing their French.
Availability: Daytime and evenings and Saturdays
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I have delivered preschool French lessons, tutored for GCSE French and taught adults French in small groups. I have helped individual primary age children overcome barriers to learning and reintegrate within class groups
