Information about James
I am a qualified teacher, with over 15 years experience teaching English at GCSE, KS3 & CE13+ (AQA, OCR, Edexcel and IGCSE), as well as English as a Foreign Language.
I always adapt my teaching to the abilities and learning styles of every student, and engage them with the material, in order to improve their English grades, as well as giving them more confidence in this essential `life-skill`.
I have two teenage children who attended local schools, and so I understand first-hand some of the challenges students face.
I also have a broad range of experience with students with learning difficulties, including ADHD, ASD and dyslexia.
I offer an extensive range of tried-and-tested revision materials, including past papers, flash cards, English Literature booklets and edited modern translations of Shakespeare.
I have had amazing feedback over the years, I think because I engage the children and adapt to their interests and to their own unique learning skills - and even have fun!
Availability: I teach weekday afternoons, evenings and weekends.

James is helping my 9-year-old with English. He is a charming and wonderfully engaging English teacher. He is kind, thoughtful, and experienced in bringing out the best in every child. He customises the teaching plan based on the needs of the student and communicates well with parents so they know how their kids are doing and what support they can provide at home. I`ve never seen James rush my boy or me; he gives effective feedback and has a good range of materials to help his students. My boy has been getting lessons from James for 4 weeks, its still early days, but I can already see improvement in his confidence and writing style. I wish I had James as my teacher when I was young! :)

We worked with dear James throughout the whole powering process.( GCSE ) My son enjoyed working with him very much. He really made a great contribution to the exams. Determining the development area of ;;the student and planning accordingly carried us one step further in the exams.
