I am a highly qualified, experienced tutor in Geography with a doctoral degree in Geography from Royal Holloway University of London, a Masters in Geography from Simon Fraser University (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada), and an undergraduate degree in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of the West of England.

Though I mainly tutor Geography, I am able to assist students with subjects such as food and travel and tourism. I am also available for proof reading and helping structure essays, dissertations, and graduate theses.

Experience: I have worked as a private tutor since 2015 at some of London’s top tutoring agencies, and as a teaching and marking assistant for nine years at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and Royal Holloway (RHUL) University of London, teaching undergraduate students. For these roles I marked essay and practical lab assignments and exams, facilitating seminar discussions, and leading local fieldtrips. I have been a teaching and marking assistant for the following courses:

RHUL: Geographical Field Training II: London’s Foodscapes (January 2016-May 2016), Geographical Techniques I: GIS Module (2012-2016), Geographical Techniques II: GIS Module (2012 -2016), and Geographies of Consumption (November 2015).

SFU:Geography of Consumption (Spring 2010), Geography of Canada (Fall 2008 Summer 2010), Geography of Tourism (Fall 2009), Geography of Urban Development (Summer 2009), Physical Geography (Summer 2008), and Natural Hazards (Fall 2007 Spring 2008).

I have worked as a private tutor for a year working one on one with students from KS3 to undergraduate level. Over the course of the year I have tutored GCSE Geography, IGCSE Geography, A Level Geography, and assisted a student with his undergraduate dissertation. In 2016 I worked with a student taking A Level Geography, who achieved an A and is studying Psychology at Warwick University. In 2017 I worked with a student taking A Level Geography, who achieved a B and will be studying Medicine at Keele University. Another A Level student I worked with acheived an A. In 20017, I also worked with a student taking IGCSE who acheived an A, and another student taking GCSE Geography (AQA) who achieved an A*.

My three degrees allow me to teach across the Geography discipline as my undergraduate degree is in applied Physcial Geography and my MA and PhD in Human Geography. I would also be able to assist students taking Food Technology as my PhD focuses on food spaces.

I have also worked at as Student Ambassador at the University of the West of England, where I often worked with Student Admissions, so would also be able to assist students with their personal statements.

I am an enthusiastic tutor that believes in a dynamic approach to teaching and learning. I attend training courses and read about pedagogy to further develop my existing teaching skills and learn new ones. I also have a certificate in Programme in Skills of Teaching to Inspire Learning from RHUL, and Postgraduates who teach Geography, Environmental and Earth Sciences from the Royal Geographical Society.
