Information about Ashton
Dedicated and professional Mathematics teacher looking to take on new online students at KS3, GCSE or A-Level.
I am a full time Secondary Mathematics teacher with previous online tutoring experience. I have taught a range of ages from 6 to 18, giving me a holistic picture of the curriculum and enabling me to teach students no matter what level theyre working at. I am committed to ensuring every child I work with succeeds, but also work hard to help them enjoy the subject and develop logical thinking and problem-solving skills. I pride myself on getting students to think about Mathematics in different ways and build a deeper understanding. Through online tutoring I am able to constantly probe and question to facilitate understanding and develop the students ability to communicate mathematical ideas.
I am currently part of the Mastery Specialist Programme with the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics, which aims to develop my own expertise in teaching Mathematics and then to develop other teachers teaching. I have a BSc in Mathematics from Kings College London, a MSc in Financial Risk Management from UCL, a PGDE in secondary Mathematics from the University of Sheffield and an MA in Applied Professional Studies in Education also from the University of Sheffield.
Availability: Currently available most weekdays and weekends and can be flexible on timings.
