Information about Charanpreet
I am a recent graduate from Oxford University, with a consistently strong academic background, and a degree in English literature. At school, I received two scholarships for academic excellence, and at university I received an Exhibition for my first year performance, an academic scholarship, and the Coghill-Starkey poetry price for academic excellence. Since graduating in June, I wrote the report for an international development conference in Switzerland over the summer, and am coming to the end of an internship at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Centre, Colorado. I am now returning to the UK for a break before I apply for a masters` degree in international development.
I would love to tutor students taking their English GCSEs or A Levels, having received A*s in both, and close to full UMS scores (96%). I also received A*s in A Level History, Mathematics, and Ancient Greek, and would be happy to tutor in these subjects. Having taught English lessons to students in Beijing, I am also confident teaching English as a foreign language.
Having studied at Oxford, I also have a great deal of experience in Oxbridge admissions, and would love to help students with their personal statements and entrance examinations, as well as interview technique.
Additionally, I have worked as Deputy Editor for The Oxford Student`s stage section, and am currently Blog Editor for OxPolicy. I am also a researcher for the think tank OxPolicy, and have done internships with Andrew Mitchell MP, Gisela Stuart MP, and Princeton University Press. I would be happy to help fellow University students with proofreading, fact checking, and research.
Availability: Since my exams have finished, I am completely flexible and willing to fit around your schedule!
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I volunteer as a tutor for Jacari, a charity offering free home-tutoring for children falling behind at school because of limited English language skills. Over the summer, I worked in Beijing for Meijie Educational Consulting, tutoring A Level stage Chinese Students hoping to study at Oxbridge.
