Information about Lisa

As a hardworking and enthusiastic person I always encourage the same of the pupils I teach. I am extremely dedicated and work hard to ensure children enjoy coming to school every day, giving them a desire for learning that will last them their whole lifetime.

I am passionate about mathematics and wish to motivate children to develop their numeracy skills and to understand how they can apply these skills to real life situations. I am always keen to instil my passion for this subject into the children to show them how fun and enjoyable mathematics can be.

I am enthusiastic and committed to educating children and have the drive and ambition to succeed. I would expect the education for the children who come into my care to be a safe, fun and inspiring one, which provides opportunities for them to delve into their imaginations and bring out their creativity.

Availability: Evenings after 5pm and weekends

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I am currently a year 6 Class Teacher at a Church of England Academy where I work closely alongside the parallel year 6 teacher, who is also the Acting Deputy Head, to positively develop this year group.

I have teaching experience in both key stage 1 and 2 and have consistently received grades of either good or outstanding during lesson observations, which reflects my hard work and dedication for teaching. During my final placement at a middle school, I also had the opportunity to teach Maths to year 7. I found this a very useful experience in terms of seeing where the children would need to progress to when they entered Secondary education.

My current year 6 class consists of a group of mixed ability pupils that require differentiation in many different ways. This obviously brings its own set of challenges and difficulties, but also makes lesson planning interesting and stimulating. I ensure that I cater for the different abilities in my class by scaffolding their learning accordingly, supporting the children during their activities as necessary and providing resources that enable all children to access learning. I also understand the importance of setting goals that stretch and challenge all pupils and I strive to achieve this through lesson observations of fellow teachers within school.
