Hello! My name is Farzana, I am a qualified English teacher with experience of teaching KS3 and KS4. I have taught GCSE texts to mixed ability classes. I am a graduate in English Language and Linguistics at both undergraduate level and Masters. I am also a qualified EFL teacher, whilst undertaking my masters I earned a Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

I have previously taught English as a foreign language at Bloomsbury International to a class of 16 people and one-to-one sessions. I was able to cover several areas in English, these include: grammatical aspects, vocabulary, phonetics. This teaching experience has taught me several vital skills, such as organisation, preparing lessons and materials and simplifying tricky areas in English Language by illustrating pictures and words to students.

I also have experience in tutoring native speakers of English tutoring students English Language at different levels. I was able to help young learners with comprehension: helping them to read carefully, understand the text, and summarise the text, phonetics: recognise a wide range of different sounds and spell words correctly based on the audio provided and handwriting.

I was also able to support students in a Creative Writing workshop, where I helped students improve their writing skills to their best potential. I encouraged the students to use specialised vocabulary and write coherently, as these are some of the important areas in writing.

I believe that I am a hardworking, reliable and positive individual who can help with English at different levels. I can offer valuable and exciting English lessons, and willing to help improve any problematic areas in English.

I have previously worked with EFL students who are learning English as a foreign language of a class of 16 and also providing one-to-one sessions. I was able to cover several topic areas, including grammar, phonology and vocabulary.

I have also worked with native English students, and helped with English and Maths at primary and secondary level. This experience allowed me to enhance both my knowledge and skills. I was able to help students significantly in their writing and reading skills which was seen as an essential skill for everyday life. I have also taken part in mentoring students at my college which allowed me to help with various activities such as help complete project work.
