Information about Sam
I have a Masters in Piano Performance from the University of Birmingham. Music has played an important part in my life and indeed my education, and I would now like to use the skills I have gained to help the next generation of students to succeed.
My goal in GCSE and A-Level Music Theory and Appreciation tuition is to help students achieve the best grade possible, while ensuring that they also enjoy themselves. I achieved the top grade for A-Level Music, so I know what it takes for students to achieve top grades.
I am particularly aware that some students learn differently, and am good at adapting my teaching style around your needs. I am patient, dedicated, reliable, punctual, and highly passionate about my subject.
Good teaching can help change the lives and education of young people. There were teachers who were able to recognise and work around my learning methods, and I feel motivated to make a similarly positive impact on potential students.
I also teach piano to beginners and intermediates. I play many different genres of music, which makes it possible for me to tailor lessons around your interests and preferred taste.

Experience: I have some experience as a tutor and the feedback I received was very positive. For example, I provided one-on-one tuition to an A-Level Music student whilst at university in Southampton, and helped her to discover a way to approach composition that helped her achieve excellent results. I have attended lessons in classrooms across various primary and secondary schools in London and Southampton, including assisting the teacher teach classes.
