Hello! My name is Monica and I currently hold a BA in Modern Languages (Spanish and German) from the University of Birmingham and an MSc from the University of Oxford. As part of my degree, I have spent a year abroad studying at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) and the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). The focus of my graduate studies was on Latin American politics and contemporary history. I am very passionate about travelling, languages, philosophy, and historical linguistics.
As regards my languages classes, they are not only focused on grammar and vocabulary, but also on many aspects of Iberian/Latin American and German/Swiss/Austrian culture and I can tailor each class to suit my student`s needs and personal interests.
Availability: Weekends / Weekdays (all times)

Experience: I have experience in teaching students of all levels, ranging from primary school (including helping students do well in the 11+ exam), GCSE, AS and A Levels all the way to university students and casual adult learners. As regards English as a second language (ESL), I have helped students pass various exams including Trinity (required for residence), TOEFL, IELTS, OET and Cambridge (FCE, CAE and CPE).

It is early days to assess the ultimate success that Monica might have with my daughter, but what is critical is that her kind, patient and positive approach has stopped my daughter from dreading anything to do with learning German! She is now happy to engage, more curious about the language and finally has some self belief. If Monica has so quickly produced those feelings, the chances are good that she will also produce a satisfying GCSE result.

My daughter has had 2 sessions with Monica and I would thoroughly recommend her. She is very punctual and reliable, comes fully prepared and is very organised. My daughter is very pleased with how patient, thorough and easy to talk to she is. Always replies to messages promptly. We are very pleased to have found her!
