Information about Joseph
A 23 y/o University of Leicester Master of Mechanical Engineering (MEng). 5 year degree with placement year that was spent working for Airbus UK within their Assembly Technology team in Filton, Bristol. Passionate about change and progression, I have a keen interest in many different career sectors such as aerospace, manufacturing and automotive engineering, as well as finance, economics and business. Personal hobbies and interests include football (watching [Arsenal fan] and playing [FA Peoples Cup 2019 finalist]), running, reading (currently reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle), food (eating & cooking), and travelling (favourite location = paradise valley, Morocco). Next major goal in travel is to visit Italy (learning how to make pasta from scratch) and South America. Currently awaiting a graduate scheme at Airbus which, due to COVID-19, has been postponed until Sept 2021. In this year, I plan explore new horizons by undertaking placements at KPMG, get faster at running and improve my cooking, before doing some travelling and finally moving to Bristol.
Happy to teach all students of any ability.
Availability: Any weekday 09:00 - 20:00.
Saturday and Sunday mornings 09:00 - 12:00.
Willing to travel: 50 miles
Experience: Whilst studying A-Level Maths, I tutored a students (groups and individuals) GCSE Maths. These students all managed to secure the grades that they were working towards, which ranged from C - A*. In the same period of time, I taught analysis modules in English Literature and all modules in Physics, however these were for students from other schools.
During my Airbus placement in Bristol I volunteered at local primary schools teaching both Maths and English, as part of a community outreach programme. A fantastic experience personally, as it allowed me to see the aspirations even the youngest of learners hold!
Throughout my degree I have worked for the Careers Development Service at the university. Most recently as a Placement Ambassador, I tutored students (often older than myself, angling for graduate and post-graduate schemes) in how to conduct yourself professionally, apply for placements and graduate roles, and best practices for writing CVs, cover letters and preparing for interviews.
Throughout my university career
