Information about Anna
Qualified science teacher, registered with Education Workforce Council/Register of Education Practitioners I am a responsible, self-driven, well-organised and ambitious biologist with a very good attitude towards teaching and learning.
The realisation of my interest in education came to me while, working at the Medical Centre for Postgraduate Education, I was placed in front of the future physicians, scared (with my heart thumping in my chest) but at the same time excited, to lecture about the thyroid proteins. I absolutely loved the experience. And when my supervising role became much more significant during my doctorate and post-doctorate years at University College Dublin and Cardiff University, respectively, I did not hesitate to mentor B.Sc. students and Nuffield foundation pupils undertaking their science projects in my laboratory.
The teaching/demonstrating `components` of my career thus far that I enjoyed the most - and indeed - gave me the most satisfaction. These experiences - combined with my passion for teaching - taught me to appreciate the value of a proper education, and the importance of its availability to everyone.
Availability: I am very flexible, so please contact me and I will do my best to accommodate you in the most convenient time and place for you. I have my own transport so please do not worry about the distance :)
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: My most valuable experiences have come from my current teaching post as well as, my PhD and post-doctoral years, when I was involved in facilitating Problem- and Case Based Learning classes for the undergraduate Veterinary and Medicine students and also worked as a microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology laboratory demonstrator.
Currently I teach Microbiology and Genetics as well as a practical part of science which is a part of the A-level syllabus so I am up to speed with all the changes within it.

Anna is currently tutoring my daughter and has proved to be a highly experienced tutor in A-level biology. Anna is very patient and explains things well, giving plenty of time to absorb information. Through Annas tutoring, my daughter has gained much confidence in this subject. Anna is always very punctual and I would highly recommend her as a biology tutor!
