I am a qualified science teacher with over 12 years` experience of teaching Science to GCSE and Biology to A-level.

I really enjoying helping my students to gain confidence in Science and to challenge themselves to achieve the best that they can. I find that approaching sessions with a patient, friendly and positive manner helps students to relax and feel safe to approach topics and tasks that they usually find difficult.

In my sessions, I am keen to help students to understand not only individual topics, but how each topic links to others that they have learnt. I think this is essential if a student is to attain the highest grades.

I realise that each student is an individual so I believe that it is important that I work with them to identify their areas for development and help them to build their knowledge and understanding. I use a variety of strategies including developing revision cards, exam question practise and directing students to online resources. I hope that through doing this I can help the student to develop as an independent learner, preparing them for future study.

Availability: As I am currently taking a career break to complete an MSc course, I am available weekdays and weekends during the day and at evenings.

I have taught students of a range of abilities and needs including students with Autism. I am always keen to personalise my teaching to meet the learner`s needs, allowing them to access the curriculum in a way that suits their learning style.
