Information about Claudia
Driven by a desire to get the best out of people, I make subjects make sense to each particular student, whatever their ability, personality, interests and learning style. Having taught for over 10 years, I quickly idenitfy any knowledge gaps or other barriers to learning to break through to an individual`s full learning potential. With engaging, enjoyable and effective lessons, each tailored to a student`s specific needs, I work at a pace that suits that person, encouraging their intellectual curiosity whilst remaining focused on their targets. By building solid skills gradually from guided to fully independent work, I ensure that students make continuous progress and exceed their own expectations, leading to a boost in marks and confidence.
I often connect with those who have missed some school time, become disengaged in learning and/or seen their results drop (although my tuition is by no means limited to such students): with sensitivity, expertise and humour, I inspire enjoyment in a subject and the process of learning, which can transform students` achievements. I have helped students go from scoring below 30% to consistently above 85% within a few months of tuition, move up several Maths sets within a month and go from a predicted 4/5 in Maths to achieving a 7 three months later. I have also enabled students to move up several grades in English due to a thorough approach which begins with their personal connection to the subject and hones techniques of planning, structuring and writing answers that express their responses most effectively. I also work with those who simply need extra help in a subject, or wish to stretch themselves further than their school time allows.
Rates are variable, depending on length and frequency of lessons.
