I am a qualified, native French teacher (PGCE from the University of Portsmouth, Summer 1994).
I came to live in the UK in 1993, started teaching in a school in Sept. 1994. I have taught French to Year 7 to Year 13 at Brooke Weston CTC in Corby and at Southfields School for Girls in Kettering. I have also taught German to GCSE level at both these schools. I started teaching privately in 1998.

I have been a French examiner since 1998 so I am very aware of the skills and knowledge required by examination boards. I am currently a team leader for French GCSE and an examiner for A2. Examining gives me a really good insight into what is required by Ofqual / examination boards and I think that I do a very good job at preparing candidates for their French exams.

I have taught a wide range of students over the years: KS3, GCSE and A Level, adult learners, younger children and adults in a business environment.
What I enjoy the most is to see people make big improvements and become confident with their French, from the moment they start to understand how the language works.
I am a good communicator and I always strive to first understand people`s learning styles and difficulties so we can work on these and start to make progress, once the foundations have been secured (back) into place.

I am a dedicated, hard working and well organized person who enjoys seeing her pupils do well and (re)gain confidence.

I plan all my lessons very methodically and provide all papers / worksheets to my pupils. I also set homework for my pupils, which I believe is very important.

I am also relatively flexible with my time as I tutor full time now, should you need to modify your tutoring schedule occasionally.

Experience: I started my I have been working as a private tutor since September 1998 and enjoy every single minute of my private tuition. I think my pupils do too!
My aim is to see all my pupils improve their level of French, their confidence and their willingness to spontaneously express themselves in French. I try to incorporate a good dose of French culture in my lessons whenever I can, because, to me, this is an integral part of learning a language.
I love teaching all different types of pupils, from the ages of 7 to 77 (or more!).
I have particular experience in teaching towards both French GCSE and French A Level as I have been an examiner / moderator and team leader for several examination boards for 25 years now, and I know their requirements well.
