Hello I`m Paul, I I have a First Class degree in English Literature, and A*s in both English Literature & Language, and have tutored GCSE and A Level students for a number of years. I enjoy working with my students and seeing them realise and achieve their academic potential, while also taking a new interest in the subject. My experience has shown every student is capable of achieving at least one grade higher than they are predicted, sometimes two or three.

Outside of tutoring, I run an academic publishing company that specialises in guide books for GCSE and A Level English Literature students, so I spend a lot of time understanding the (ever changing) syllabus! As I oversee all areas of production of the books, including co-editing all new titles, my job also requires me to know the core texts of different reading lists in detail, which certainly helps when working 1:1 with students.

I have a very patient tutoring style and appreciate that everybody learns at a different pace and with an individual approach. I am also able to help students with general essay writing and exam preparation, particularly helping them to research, plan, structure and edit their written work.

While my focus is on improving students` academic abilities, I am also very aware of the challenges and pressures involved with homework and exams. I can also help with timetabling, time management and mentoring to help keep students on track and in control of their target grades.

I also offer Online (email/skype) & telephone tutoring and mentoring.

Availability: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday evenings - weekends are sometimes possible, if necessary.
