Two things mark me out as a tutor, enthusiasm for the subject and approachability. Since 2008 I have been working with students who have benefitted greatly from one to one help in achieving their potential. I also worked with a charitable organisation that helps home educated children, running a science club for them.
Does tutoring make a difference? Yes it does! With consistent effort and the right individually tailored help, any pupil can make significant strides forward. A number of my pupils have improved from borderline C/D grades or lower and gone on to achieve 100% exam results. Most people improve their performance by at least 1-2 grades.
I am afraid that because of a variety of commitments, I am only tutoring from home now. I can help more people that way, rather than spending time on the road.

Availability: Weekday evenings from Monday to Thursday. I can provide tutoring over Zoom if desired.

Experience: I am a qualified and experienced secondary science teacher, having worked in schools and colleges in England and Wales and taught both Chemistry and Biology to A level standard. I am fully CRB checked. I also have 18 years experience of working for two of the largest companies in the chemical industry. The sciences have been my career for over thirty years.
