Information about Alison
I am a retired Secondary School Science Teacher from an outstanding north London school now relocated to east midlands. I was head of KS4 assessment in science, specialising in preparation for exams and supporting students who were struggling to achieve their predicted level. I teach all 3 sciences upto GCSE level and Biology to A level. I have experience of AQA, OCR and Edexcel exam boards and have been an OCR exam marker for GCSE. I tailor my lessons to the student, providing support and challenge to enable them to reach their potential. I have tutored a number of students with additional needs. I try and draw on creative illustrations to provide interesting and enjoyable lessons. Since retiring I have kept pace with the developments in the assessment of the subject and have tutored students every year.
Availability: I am available to book new students for lessons beginning in the new school year, 2023-4.

For the past two months, Alison has been helping my daughter prepare for her (separate) GCSE exams in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Alison`s ability to cover all three subjects has been a major plus, enabling my daughter to focus each week on the subject she feels needs the most immediate help. We have already seen signs of improving grades in the range 7/8 towards the grades 8/9 which my daughter is hoping to achieve. Well done Alison!
