I am a very positive person with a huge amount of patience and determination to achieve high standards.

I believe in a constructive, creative approach to learning, using examples from real life and exploring different methods of problem solving that resonate with the strengths of each individual student.

Students will work in a friendly, approachable atmosphere with open communication which inevitably benefits the success of the student and the satisfaction of the tutor (me!). I see my job as a tutor not only to teach the subject but to inspire students to see the benefits of their learning and bring awareness of the wider world in which they live.

Availability: I am available in the evenings and weekends for children at school. If adult lessons are required, I can teach on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during school hours. Please check my current availability on my profile - this is always kept up to date.

Experience: Following completion of a MEng degree in Product Design Engineering, I have enjoyed a 15 year career working in a broad range of industries in the UK`s top Design Consultancies.

As a tutor, I have detailed knowledge of the curriculum and experience teaching Maths from Year 3 through to GCSE. I tutor students privately and also support the maths department in a secondary school locally. In addition to this, I guide young students through all aspects of 11+ CEM exam for Grammar School entrance (English, Non-Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Maths).

Following my career in Product Design Engineering, I have a deep understanding of the subject. I enjoy passing my knowledge of this on to budding young designers with experience mentoring students through A-level and degree Design and Technology.

I have 2 children of my own who give me a close understanding of working with young minds and who have inspired me to move into education; passing my knowledge on to the next generation.

I have an enhanced DBS check certificate as required.
