Information about Jaisila
My name is Jaisila, Im a medical student at the University of Bristol. I live in Winchester and attended St Swithuns School. I tutor a range of subjects and instruments through term-time and over the school holidays.
Im a keen musician having been a member of the Hampshire County Youth Orchestras for about nine years and spent the latter two years as principal cellist. I am an experienced pianist and am passionate about working with young people of all ages. I aim to take care to encourage discipline and hard-work whilst maintaining a lively and engaging atmosphere.
Whether you want some support alongside your instrumental lessons, you are a complete beginner or want to progress further in your graded exams I am here to help you.
I also tutor in maths (primary level), science (up to KS3), biology (up to GCSE). If your child would benefit from some focused support in these subjects outside of the classroom, some one-to-one sessions would be ideal. I can offer weekly sessions throughout the holiday or a short burst of remedial lessons.
Lastly, I feel I have been able to accumulate a number of tips and tricks that will be hugely helpful in MMI medical school interviews. I can cover mock interview questions and ideas for structured answers and advice on personal statements as well as any other help you might need.

Availability: I am available throughout term-time and school holidays (both weekdays and weekends) so just get in touch and we can arrange a time that works best for you.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have experience in teaching cello up to grade 6 and have managed and led large musical ensembles. I also have experience teaching beginners piano and find that learning piano with a view to taking grades is a great way to stay focused and motivated. If you are a more casual learner I can help with that too.
In terms of maths and science I have tutored with Action Tutoring, Bristol and taught Year 6 pupils maths and helped improve their SATs performance.
My overriding focus is to ensure that all your development is underpinned by a happy, trusting and nurturing environment; one in which mistakes are built on, not criticised.

Jaisila is an excellent tutor, rigorous in her planning of sessions, engaging and creative in her delivery. She is very kind and approachable in all her communications with me. My teenage son is benefitting enormously from Jaisila`s teaching, he has re-engaged with Science and looks forward to his sessions. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Jaisila.
