Information about Josephine
Hi! I`m Jo, a 5th year medical student at the Uni of Oxford who is passionate about medicine and all things science!
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I have experience doing casual private tutoring sessions with a few students for Maths GCSE and Biology and Chemistry A level at home but I`m now moving online to find people to tutor whilst I`m at uni. I try to make tutorials as friendly and laidback as possible, as well as super collaborative. All sessions will be individually tailored to what you want from a tutor- not only making sure that the content we cover is what you need most but that the method of teaching is going to be most useful for your learning style.
I will tend to focus on giving you the time to really understand concepts and discuss them with me (which is something I think you can get out of a private tutoring session that you often can`t in school), as well as properly tailoring content to your specific exam board and what tends to come up in exams. I am also a big fan of making and providing you with resources to use for your learning, including tutorial summary handouts and posters, as well as exam question booklets and links to resources I used for my exams.
I can also provide quality medical school admissions advice particularly for those applying to Oxbridge. This includes mock interviews, BMAT and personal statement advice. I have gotten a good grasp of what is needed to succeed in Oxbridge and medical applications having helped with interviews for a couple of years at Oxford. Being in my 5th year also puts me in a great position to help those preparing for MMIs, as there is often a lot of crossover here with the OSCE exams we sit in the later years of med school.
