Information about Jon-paul

Born in Liverpool and raised in Redditch, West Midlands;; Jon-Paul took an active interest in music from an early age. Starting guitar and keyboard lessons aged 12, he quickly developed the skills to play some of his favourite songs and perform in bands.
After 3 years writing, performing and recording in a signed band, Jon-Paul became an associate member of The Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) and started teaching private lessons from home, quickly growing to enjoy it as much as doing his own playing.
In 2013, he relocated to London and undertook a 3 year degree in Creative Musicianship at the world-renowned Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in Kilburn. As well as furthering guitar playing and performance skills, Jon-Paul was able to gain a deeper knowledge of sight-reading, music theory, creativity, effective practice methods and music production.

He now runs his own private guitar tuition business, `[contact detail removed]` and continues to teach and perform in and around London.
When he`s not involved in music, Jon-Paul also enjoys reading, travel the world and coffee :)

BA (Hons) in Creative Musicianship and DBS checked with over 5 years teaching experience as well as nearly 20 years playing, writing, performing and recording. I’m adept at creating custom lesson plans for students, advising on equipment purchases and maintenance and encouraging students to learn on their own to enhance their lessons. I specialise in rock, blues and pop but can teach many other popular styles including metal, country, jazz, classical, folk and more! Lessons are conducted in the comfort of your own home or any other venue of your choosing, such as a local rehearsal studio.

Due to my education and work experience and as a member of The Registry of Guitar Tutors, I can teach students their favourite songs as well as the related theory, sight-reading and techniques. I can also prepare students of all ages for exams up to and beyond grade 8.

As an active writer, performer and session musician, I also have real world experience and can help students towards their own projects and performances.
I aim to make lessons fun, informative and help people to be creative and to enjoy music for many years to come.
