I am a friendly, approachable person who has a passion for language learning and travel.
Availability: Monday to Thursday after school and evenings.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have taught French and Spanish in secondary schools for 25 years. I have extensive experience of teaching GCSE and A-Level French and Spanish and preparing students for the Oxbridge entry examinations in languages. I have also acquired substantial experience in preparing students for the common entrances examinations.
I have an in-depth knowledge of teaching and learning across the curriculum and as an Assistant Headteacher I have led and trained colleagues to become exceptional teachers. Therefore, I have all the experience you need to help you succeed with your French and Spanish language development. I have just finished studying for a Masters`s degree in Translation and awarded my degree in March 2021.

Julie is amazing. She fitted my daughter in for last minute tutoring before her Spanish speaking exam. In just a few lessons my daughter went from having little confidence in Spanish to feeling confident and ready to tackle the exam. She came out of the exam saying it went well and she actually enjoyed it. As my daughter says ’Julie can teach, she knows how to make things fun and makes you understand’. We just wish we had found Julie earlier. Julie is a lovely, friendly, fun, amazing Spanish tutor.

Julie has been absolutley great to work with, and the lessons so far really hit the spot. She has been very repsonsive and flexible. Would very much recommend.

Julie is providing excellent support for my daughter who will do her A level Spanish exams this summer. They have focused on identified areas requiring improvement and her command of various tenses and the subjunctive have significantly improved. As a result, she is feeling much more confident regarding the forthcoming exams.
