Bachelors degree Loughborough University, Masters degree from Warwick University. I am enthusiastic and passionate about teaching and at the same time am approachable and friendly in my relationship with my pupils.


As a professional performance coach (who has worked in education and business) I have a unique insight into what facilitates success. My approach recognises the need to align conceptual understanding with an ability to apply it in different situations. There is often a disconnect here which explains why pupils struggle in exam situations. Students are often taught Maths in a rote fashion which means there is a lack of `deep learning`. It is like learning a language from books but never using the language in real situations. I brought my unique coaching approach to Warwick University`s Maths Resilience Project and to my delight it is being used nationwide.

Equally importantly I ensure the sessions are enjoyable by injecting variety, and an element of humour and fun. Maths Education is, sadly, often associated with boredom but it needn`t be this way. A lot of beauty and magic in the world is underpinned by Mathematics!

I am currently in the process of collaborating with Warwick University in writing a book that makes Maths more accessible and relevant to the students of today. The plan is to follow up with books at different levels which will support teachers, students and parents.
