Information about Alistair

I am a University of Leeds graduate with a 2:1 in Economics. I work for a tutoring charity that provides tutoring support to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.I am experienced in tutoring Maths and English and keen to do more Maths and Economics tutoring in my own time.

Able to do Maths tutoring at SATs level or GCSE level and Economics at A-level. Can work at foundation level or higher with a focus on learning the skills needed for the exam.

Availability: Weekday evenings from 4:30pm. Occasional weekends.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I work full time for an education charity and am in and out of 7 different schools throughout the week. I manage over 60 volunteers and over 120 pupils at a time to help them pass their GCSEs or SATs.

I have experience working with the new 1-9 / expected standard grading systems at GCSE and SATs level respectively and understand the challenges presented by tough, wordy reasoning questions.

As well as a 2:1 in Economics BSc from the University of Leeds I also have the following A levels.

Difficult to provide substantive feedback until exams are over and results are in. However can say that Alistair has done an excellent job in raising my son`s confidence and self belief. He has done this by identifying where further study/revision is needed, setting specific tasks related to identified areas of `weakness` and providing structured feedback on the resulting essays. Many thanks Alistair
