Information about Ian
My name is Ian and I am a retired Aerospace Engineer. Since `retirement` I have worked as a motorcycle mechanic, a carer and in a factory repairing machinery. I have an Engineering Degree (with Honours).
My Aerospace job started in the Design Office of what was then (in 1989) called British Aerospace at Warton Aerodrome.
I subsequently worked for The Boeing Company in Seattle, USA, (1996 to 1997) as an Engineer, responsible for managing a team of designers working on the 747 (Jumbo jet) and the 767.
After that, I worked at an agency in Manchester called Morson Projects (1997 to 2008), firstly as a designer, then, in 2001, I transferred into their Stress Analysis department.
From 2008 to 2014, I worked at another agency called Assystem in Bamber Bridge as a Stress Analyst.
Since the aerospace work, I`ve tried a variety of different things as mentioned above.
I decided to try my hand at private tuition and began looking at GCSE Maths past papers.
I have since worked my way through ALL the Edexcel / Pearson papers available on the internet (2013 - 2018) and all those from AQA. (Edexcel / Pearson and AQA are 2 major examination boards)
I have compiled a vast array of worked examples (from these past papers) in an Excel Spreadsheet that I use as a teaching aid.
Maths has always been my forte: For example, at the end of my year 10 and aged 15, I passed GCSE Maths (then called `O` Level) with the highest possible score; Grade A.
The Stress work I did was also all maths - based.
I offer the first 1 hour session free of charge for you to assess my effectiveness.
In the unlikely event that you`re not fully satisfied, there is no obligation to continue with further sessions.
I can come to you (up to 5 miles) or you can come to me.
Availability: Almost unlimited at this time.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I`m fairly new to private tuition, but have received 5 star feedback from all my previous clients and I really enjoy it.

We would highly recommend Ian. Our daughter said she felt very comfortable from the start and that Ian helped her confidence and understanding by breaking down questions. Ian easily adapted his tuition to our daughters learning style and taught her useful tips when using the calculator and in interpreting and answering questions
