Qualified primary teacher with strengths in maths, English, reading and science.
I believe children should enjoy what they learn. That`s why I strive to make the art of learning exciting and enjoyable through relevance and well designed teaching and resources. That way progress is easy and significant.
I have other interests in music (guitar and singing), carpentry, environmental issues and many more. These have been learnt through vast experiences in work and recreation.
I can offer guitar lessons (electric and acoustic guitar).
Availability: Weekday evenings and weekends.

Experience: Experience of working with children aged 5 to 11 in KS1 and KS2, specialising in upper KS2 (years 5 and 6) and preparation for SATs. Experience of teaching maths, English and reading based on the year 5 and 6 curriculum. Taught phonics to year 1 and 2.
Have been employed full time as a teacher and part time as a supply teacher.
Experience of working in jobs outside of education in environmental science, medical science and construction.

Harry is fantastic. My son’s confidence in maths had been worsening and he was really worried about making mistakes. This was holding him back as he’d decided he just couldn’t do it. Harry has been very patient, using fun games and tech to explain concepts that had gone over my son’s head in class. In only 4 sessions my son’s confidence has massively improved and he even looks forward to the lessons! We are already seeing an impact on his marks. Thank you Harry!

We felt our son was being turned of English at school due to the emphasis on learning the technicalities of grammar rather than the enjoyment of creative writing. Harry has found a way of allowing our son to express his creative writing skills as well as meeting the demands of the current primary curriculum. Our son enjoys his sessions with Harry and is engaged and enthusiastic about his writing again.
