Hi, Im Siobhan, an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic teacher of psychology. I love my subject and I love sharing this passion with my pupils. I have found creative and innovative ways to teach difficult concepts to students (eg. Research methods, Biopsychology and writing effective extended responses). As an examiner, I know how to prepare students to achieve their best possible results. As an experienced head of department, Ive been responsible for successful interventions for pupils of all ability levels - supporting underachieving pupils, moving Bs to As and stretching pupils to achieve A*s. I have supported pupils applying to various Oxbridge courses (Experimental Psychology, PBS, PPL, etc.) by tutoring TSA preparation, personal statement writing, interview practice, etc. I love psychology and I love seeing pupils develop in 1-2-1 tutoring sessions. Whatever your current level and whatever your ambitions, Im happy to help.

Experience: I am an experienced teacher of psychology and head of department at a highly successful independent school in Surrey. My A Level results speak for themselves - in 2022, 54% of my pupils achieved an A* grade, 70% A*-A and 100% A* - C.
I have taught the AQA specification for 8 years (with an additional 3 years experience teaching psychology in Australia). I am also an experienced examiner for AQA.
I have tutored pupils in London and Surrey for 5 years with fantastic results.
I keep up to date with advancements in pedagogy and have delivered CPD on metacognition, retrieval practice and cognitive load, as well as contributed articles to Psychology Review magazine on how teachers can implement ideas from cognitive science in the classroom.
