Information about Victoria

I am an experienced tutor recently having completed a Masters degree at the London School of Economics (LSE), with a BA in Psychology & Neuroscience from the University of Oxford.

I have tutored on and off throughout my studies for the past 8 years, mainly focused on Maths and Science.

In teaching style, I am positive, patient and thorough. I believe in challenging students, but also in building confidence and strong foundations in each subject. I am keen not only to help tutees to excel academically- by understanding how best to articulate their ideas and `tick the boxes` that mark schemes require- but also to enjoy their studies.

I studied my BA in Psychology, Philosophy and Physiology (Psych & Neurosci) at Christ Church, Oxford. I achieved a very high 2:1 degree and maintained an academic college scholarship for both my 2nd and 3rd years. At Wycombe Abbey School I also held a 6th form scholarship and achieved straight A*s for Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and Art at A-level, additionally achieving A*s in History and Critical Thinking at AS-level.

Availability: I am currently ONLY TAKING REMOTE WORK. This means that I may only be able to help you if you need assistance that can be conducted via telephone, skype or email. Examples of this might include help structuing an essay, editing a personal statement, or proofreading academic work.

I am afraid that I cannot offer face-to-face lessons at this time.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I tutor mainly maths and science (KS2, KS3, GCSE and A level) and have done so on-and-off for 8 years.
I have helped a number of students move up several classes in Maths and Science, as well as helping others to far exceed predicted grades at GCSEs or A-levels.

I have also provided assistance in helping several students to formulate degree-level essays and dissertations in Psychology.

Additionally, I am able to offer assistance in preparing students for entrance examinations to various public schools, and strengthening university applications, particularly to Oxford.

Victoria is professional, friendly, and patient in her approach. My girls tell me that she is good at explaining the concepts, and ensures that they understand the topic before moving on to the next one.

Victoria tutored my son for his Ad Maths exam. He was transformed into an enthusiastic motivated student after the first lesson. Victoria prepared the subjects in advance and focused immediately on the task in hand. She is disciplined, capable and made a difficult subject easy to understand.
