I am a Cambridge graduate and I am now in my final year of studying Medicine at UCL.

For the first 3 years of my medical degree I studied at the University of Cambridge (Selwyn College) where I obtained a 1st class Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) degree. The laboratory work that I completed for my dissertation contributed to a publication in the European Journal of Neuroscience (Mechanisms regulating spill-over of synaptic glutamate to extrasynaptic NMDA receptors in mouse substantia nigra dopaminergic neurons).

I obtained 10 A*s at GCSE, 5 As at AS Level (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths, History) and 3 A*s at A Level (Biology, Chemistry, Maths).

As a tutor, I aim to tailor my teaching to each student`s style of learning, encouraging full understanding of concepts key to building knowledge. My own enjoyment of learning comes across in my teaching, where I wish to engage students and provide a supportive environment for them to progress.

I am flexible in the lessons I provide. I generally ask students the week before what they would like to cover in the following lesson. If the student is unsure of specific topics to cover I create revision sessions that can highlight areas where the student is still struggling. I often use past-paper questions in lessons (particularly during revision lessons) and also occasionally set questions as homework. For each lesson, I create workbooks that help structure the lesson and also allow the student to revisit the topics in their own time.

In addition to tutoring, I offer help with university applications, in particular for science degrees and/or Oxbridge. I provide assistance with personal statements, interview preparation (mock interviews via Skype) as well as advice on the UKCAT.

Experience: I have tutored many students studying A level biology, providing lesson worksheets and monitoring their progress. Further, I have helped with personal statement writing and have given general advice on university applications including interviews and medical admissions tests.
