Information about Christene
I am absolutely passionate about teaching French and thoroughly enjoyed my years teaching boys at my local grammar school. Helping students at all ages and abilities achieve their potential was very rewarding. I think that language is a communicative skill and for students to succeed in learning any language they must firstly enjoy the learning and as they begin to gain confidence they start to really improve in all areas. My experience as a French teacher means I am fully up to date with current exam requirements and I am really looking forward to helping students achieve their personal potential and ultimately gain the grade they deserve at GCSE or A level. My examination results for my GCSE and A Level classes at Poole Grammar School were consistently excellent. I am also available to tutor adults looking to improve their french conversation skills or to learn the basics and have had lots of experience with on line classes, having taught my school classes from year 7 to year 13 via zoom during the pandemic. I currently have an on;line class teaching english friends who live in France close to our holiday home in the Charente.

Experience: French teacher with 20 years experience at all levels, but specialism in GCSE and A-level. PGCE from Southampton University and BA Hons degree in French. I have a proven track record of achieving excellent examination results in speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. I am also a lover of French culture and lifestyle, having had a second home there for more than 25 years which helps me to keep up my fluency in French and my awareness of political and socio-economic issues and developments. This really helps the way I tutor A level students in particular.
I now spend at least 2 months in France and have many French friends which enables me to keep up my fluency in the language. I also give regular conversation lessons to expats who live in France and who want to be more competent in the language and be able to make themselves understood in a variety of everyday situations.
