I have been a professional tutor for 4 years with a broad range of experience including 11+ and 13+ school entry, GCSE, A-Level and university application support. I recently graduated from Oxford University with a master`s degree in Engineering Science. While my assessments were disrupted by conditions during the pandemic, I was declared to have deserved honours, and was expecting a 2:1.

I maintain a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in my lessons; I find that students learn much better if they are enjoying themselves as they do so. As such, I don`t tend to set a huge amount of homework, especially during term-time.

I tailor my lessons to the individual student, using feedback from parents and/or the student themselves to plan lessons, and adjust my style depending on what works for them.

James explained things really simply and clearly and kept her engaged throughout. He also helped her to feel more confident about her maths and now she`s looking forward to starting her GCSE courses.`

Experience: I have four years of tutoring experience, having tutored part-time while studying and full-time since June. I have successfully supported students for entry into top private, public and grammar schools at 11+ and 13+, tutored for GCSE and A-Level (and equivalents) with more than 80% of students meeting or exceeding their predicted grades, supported entry to top universities, and provided general tuition in support of school work.
