Information about Susan
Confident, well spoken, outgoing and enthusiastic about education and teaching. I have been a Computer Science/ICT teacher for over 9 years. I also teach trainee teachers computer science at KS3, KS4 and KS5 levels on a SKE programme. A lifetime learner always educating myself on what I love to do and activities I want to try and knowledge I want to gain.
Availability: Day time, evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I worked in the I.T Industry from 1988 until 2004, as a Computer Analyst/Programmer for 16 years, which required me to: Analysing clients requirements for bespoke and new software, writing software programs, supporting clients on with their software and hardware and training new employers on the development environment. Having worked in various roles in the I.T Industry, one role I really enjoyed most was training. I decided to further develop my interest in this by becoming a teacher/lecturer. I became a supply teacher as it offered me the opportunity to work as a teacher in schools as well as lecturing at college. I soon found my interest was learning towards teaching in schools.
This led to becoming a trainee teacher on a SCITT which gained me a PGCE in ICT. From then on I found a teaching position in a Secondary school, which I stayed with for 9 plus years. I then became a supply teacher working in various types of schools teaching Computer Science and ICT.
I am now back in full-time employment as a Computer Science/ICT teacher.
