Information about Mark
Hi!
My name is Mark, I am currently a 3rd year medical student at the University of Southampton. I did my A-Levels in Biology (A*), Chemistry (A), and Latin (A*), and my GCSES (7A*s, 2As, B, C) in the sciences, maths, English, Latin, History, French, Italian, and Ancient Greek.
I feel very fortunate to have had certain teachers in my life who made learning fun and inspired curiosity in me whilst making sure that I was focused on my academic targets at that time and I strive to pass that on to my students.
Throughout school, I played sport and sang in a band, so I can relate to the pressure so many students are finding themselves under trying to deal with so many commitments at once. Together, we can prioritise them and make sure that you achieve your goals.
My approach is completely goal-orientated. I will work with you to determine what your strengths and weaknesses are, what kind of learning style you are best suited to (e.g. visual versus written) and we can then set out targets that you want to achieve and set out a plan on how to achieve them in the time frame you need. Sessions can be orientated around specific topics, exam practice, general revision techniques, as well as lifestyle - what kind of changes you could be making to improve your studies and general well-being.
I shall look forward to hearing from you.
Availability: As a university student, I have a very flexible schedule and should be able to accommodate your needs, provided you give me some advance notice.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have been tutoring students across various ages and levels of education for more than five years. My approach is completely goal-orientated. I will work with you to set out targets that you want to achieve and we will set out a plan on how to achieve them in the time frame you need.

Mark`s sessions with our 17 year old son are well organised and structured. He is very familiar with AQA A level Biology course. He has excellent interpersonal skills and is patient and encouraging. Our son has gained confidence and a greater depth of understanding for the first year subject content that he has struggled to keep up with at college. Mark explains things clearly and effectively. He is a very polite and good natured young man and a pleasure to have in the house.
