Information about Eliz
I am a female first-year undergraduate student at the University of Cambridge History. I am extremely passionate about learning, and therefore an enthusiastic and engaging teacher. I strive to bring out the full potential from each and every one of my pupils in an encouraging and positive environment.
Born in 1995, I achieved 11 A*s at GCSE including in English and Maths (please enquire for further subject knowledge), 3 A*s at A-Levels in History, Economics and Maths as well as an A in AS-Level Latin.
Having successfully been through the University application and Oxbridge preparation process recently myself, I am very familiar with the requirements, and I am willing to share this in-depth firsthand experience to help others improve and strengthen their applications. I am also willing to offer regular mock interview practise.
Another area of my expertise is study-skills, essay writing and exam technique. These are crucial considering the growing emphasis on such skills for success in both internal and external examinations.
I am very flexible and responsive depending on the needs and learning style of my tutees. My аpprоаch depends the individuаl`s goals: with private tuition there is no prescribed method that works for all. I аm hаppy tо teаch thоse whо are looking for general improvement at something оr tо help thоse whо wаnt а mоre structured and focused plаn tо аchieving а certаin quаlificаtiоn.
Abоve аll, I wаnt аnyоne whо cоmes tо me tо feel cоmfоrtаble with the lessоns аnd tо feel they аre benefitting frоm аn enjоyаble and rewarding experience from start to finish of the session, with feedback from the student centre-stage to make each lesson better than the last.
My tutoring will not stop when the session finishes: I am available for marking and feedback weeklong to provide support for my students to give them the ability and drive to achieve the best results they can.
I can also offer study skills sessions, lessons on how to improve essay technique and work with tutees to devise effective revision plans and timetables.
Availability: I am available throughout the coming exam season and am willing to tutor a variety of subjects for GCSE pupils over an extended period. I am available during university holidays (early December to mid January, mid-March to mid-April, and Summer) for this reason I will currently be more suited to clients who want plenary help or more intensive revision sessions.
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: Whilst at school myself, I regularly tutored my fellow classmates as well as those younger than myself for over 3 years in A-Level and GCSEs.
My most recent tutee transformed the `E` grade she was sitting on at AS Level Economics to an overall `B` grade for her final A-Level. We achieved this through a week of intensive one-on-one sessions, which were individually tailored to suit her learning style.
I believe that my proximity to taking GCSEs and A-Levels myself puts me in a better position to teach these qualifications than those who took them many years ago - especially in this current environment where exam technique is everything and exams have changed so much over the last few years.
I believe I have the qualities necessary to succeed as a tutor: academic curiosity, excellent experience, and above all a desire to learn as I teach.
