Information about Maxine
Experienced Teacher of Science with a positive and friendly attitude to learning. I have a warm disposition with the ability to draw the best from the student.
My specialist subject is Biology and Chemistry with experience of teaching English and Mathematics at Primary level and KS3/4.I have taught Biology,Physics, and Chemistry to all levels for 20 years within mainstream schools.
I am also a graduate of musicianship achieving graduate level of piano forte and theory.
Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings.

Experience: For several years I have worked as a Microbiologist in industry. I am a qualified Secondary School Teacher of Science, Maths and Health and Social Care . In addition I have experience teaching and tutoring English GCSE English. I teach all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and Maths to GCSE as well as Biology to Advanced Level at a comprehensive school in Surrey. Due to my professional experience I tutor all exam boards and ensure my Tutee’s develop the technique of answering questions to a high level. I have experience as a an examiner for the Edexcel Examination Board so very familiar with what the examiners are looking for. I expect and seek to achieve the highest possible level of achievement for all my Tutee’s.

Maxine is warm and friendly; she is an experienced teacher who knows the exam boards well. She is thorough and my daughter, who was not keen on tuition in the first instance, tells me she is learning a lot . Maxine sets questions from different boards and helps with exam technique. So far really pleased.
