I have worked at Greet School for nearly 12 years. The school has undergone a lot of change since I became a member of the team and has continually evolved and adapted to address and implement continuing changes in the primary curriculum. It has sought to develop new teaching and learning strategies brought on by various new initiatives, such as the Literacy and Numeracy Frameworks, letters and sounds and varied assessment procedures, such as the ITAFs in Year Two. As a result of Greets need to continually assess its performance in meeting the needs of its pupils and staff both academically and socially, I have been able to develop my own teaching skills, and curriculum knowledge and delivery through thorough training and opportunities for professional development.

Active Maths training at Small Heath School has given me the confidence to make my Maths more practical and engaging and not always relying on written work in their books. This really helps the children who enjoy sports and can use and apply their sporting skills to help them in Maths.

Other activities include a Sports event, where children from each schools take part in. In addition, in order to incorporate Greets focus on improving the use of computing, I got the children from the three schools to write a blog about each other, which will act as an initial ice-breaker.
I am also part of the Geography working party, which I am the lead member. Arranged for schools around the world to make a video about themselves for the Geography Day. (Turkey, Brunei and Bangladesh). Furthermore, Matt has been in collaboration with colleagues from Kuwait and the USA. We also made Vlogs from various countries ourselves (Shah in Morocco, Matt and Hussain in Oman) The purpose of the Vlogs was to share the experience of other countries with the children of Greet. I have used QR codes in my Maths lessons and as a result the children have been able to take ownership of their learning and it has allowed for children to work with each other better and articulate their answers and not be afraid of making mistakes. This gave them the understanding of having better learning goals.
