Hi!

I`m an Italian native speaker, qualified to teach Italian as a Foreign Language or Second Language.
I offer bespoke tuition to suit my students` needs, using a `discovery` or inductive approach: rather than asking to memorise rules, I encourage students to understand them through observation of given examples.
I prepare the material for my classes by combining authentic and semi-authentic materials, drawing from newspaper articles, books, films, music videos, blogs etc. I also like to tailor my classes to my students` needs and interests whether they are learning Italian to go on holiday, they have an interest in literature, politics, fashion or any other topic! My aim is to create useful content which can at the same time be fun and motivating.
I am also happy to work using textbooks, especially if someone is preparing an exam or has been given a specific book to study with by their institution or school.
I can also support students in preparation of their CILS exam (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera/ Certificate of Italian as a Foreign Language).

During my classes, students are encouraged to develop all abilities (from listening to speaking, reading and writing) but I will focus on each of these differently, depending on my students` skills and requirements.

Experience: I have offered Italian tuition to colleagues through the companies I have worked with for 5 years (one to one) and I have more recently taught two 3-month courses (Intermediate and Beginner levels). I also have previous experience teaching in schools and after-school programmes in Italy for children between 12-16 years of age.
